The Therapy Process
Free Consultation
During a 15-minute phone call, we'll chat about what you're wanting out of the counseling experience and how I can help.
If we decide I'm a fit for you, we'll schedule an appointment for your first session. I'll walk you through some simple steps to access and use the online video platform for our sessions.
First Session
While our first session will include some structured orientation and assessment, this appointment is warm and conversational.
I'll invite you to share more about the the issues we're addressing and the outcomes you're wanting. Together we'll discuss approaches we can use to move you forward.
Follow Up Appointments
While I use expert-informed approaches to guide our work, you are, and will remain, the most important expert in the room when it comes to your own experiences and needs. Our work will be collaborative and continuously shaped by your feedback.
You'll feel some relief during our sessions, but our success will be measured by the changes you see in your life outside of sessions.
Ending Treatment
Many clients will continue working with me after we've progressed past their original goals; our time together is spent working through new challenges as they have different experiences moving forward in their lives.
Often, as clients keep seeing positive changes, they gradually decrease the frequency and/or length of their sessions until they feel comfortable wholly ending treatment.
